Itumeleng Khune claimed his Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana teammate Siphiwe Tshabalala is an "inspiration" to South Africa following their 2-0 win over Burkina Faso on Saturday. In his third man of the match performance in three weeks for club and country, Tshabalala was instrumental in helping Bafana Bafana redeem themselves after their disappointing 2-0 loss to Nigeria three days before. The dreadlocked midfielder combined with debutant Bongani Zungu to whip in a low drive, which was too hot to handle for the Burkinabe goalkeeper Kabore, giving the hosts a deserved lead. Tshabalala's performance levels did not wane, as he was continuously involved in South Africa's attacking moves after the goal, earning yet more recognition for his superlative form after the match.

Congratulations to Simphiwe Tshabalala Goal.com's 41st South Africa Player of the Week winner!

Honourable Mention

Kamohelo Mokotjo- PEC Zwolle

Another emphatic performance from the young talent saw Mokotjo score and create a goal for Eredivisie outfit PEC Zwolle. Mokotjo's stock is rising in the Dutch league as he continues to perform exceptionally for his new club since making the move from Feyenoord.

Tlou Segolela - Orlando Pirates

In his first competitive match of the season, Segolela scored a goal and provided an assist during Pirates dominant 4-1 win over Zamalek in the Caf Champions League, which all but ensured a spot in the semi-final stages for the Buccaneers.
Daine Klate - Orlando Pirates

Klate continues to impress for the club and may be on the Bafana Bafana roster soon, after his thrilling performance against Zamalek which saw the midfielder create two goals, setting up Bacela and Myeni. Klate was also able to get his name on the scoreboard after netting Pirates' 4th of the night.

Each week our team of writers will put forward a selected candidate, as chosen by Goal.com South Africa, who deserves recognition for achieving something special that matchday.

You can also help us choose a worthy recipient of the weekly accolade by leaving your nominations and comments. Your suggestions will be taken into consideration.

It won't necessarily be the best player in the country - at least not usually - but whoever we crown will have accomplished something amazing. It might be for a particularly awesome performance or for something praiseworthy off the pitch - either way, the person in question deserves special attention...
