thumbnail Hello,

The Zimbabwe and Kaizer Chiefs forward returned to form in emphatic style, netting a goal for club and country last week

South Africa Player of the Week
Knowledge Musona
AGE 23
TEAM Kaizer Chiefs
South Africa 1-2 Zimbabwe
Kaizer Chiefs 2-0 Maritzburg United

Musona's magic may have returned. After an inconsistent start to his loan spell at Kaizer Chiefs, many were questioning the striker's frame of mind, but Musona has answered his critics in grand style. First, the Zimbabwean forward helped his country dismantle Bafana Bafana with a superb goal during their international friendly. The strike reminded the nation of Musona's potential and excited Kaizer Chiefs fans due to its brilliance. The forward then followed up his goal with a second of the week, this time for AmaKhosi during their PSL match against Maritzburg United. If Musona's form is set to continue, Chiefs may have found a perfect tonic to their poor start this season.

Congratulations to Knowledge Musona's 45th South Africa Player of the Week winner!

Honourable Mention

Thulani Serero- Ajax Amsterdam

Serero showed no signs of injury when playing PEC Zwolle on Saturday, as the controversial Bafana Bafana winger scored for Ajax Amsterdam in the 72nd minute. Serero is set to play Barcelona in the Champions League this week - the perfect stage for a talented youngster to shine.

Bongani Ndulula- AmaZulu

Ndulula has been an essential ingredient in AmaZulu's excellent start to the season, as the player secured another win for the Durban-based side on Saturday. His 23rd minute goal was enough to ensure the side ran out 1-0 winners over Moroka Swallows. Usuthu moved up to second spot on the PSL standings thanks to Ndulula's efforts.
David Mathebula- SuperSport United

SuperSport were able to dig themselves out of a rut on Sunday as David Mathebula scored an equaliser against Mpumalanga Black Aces 11 minutes from time. The goal meant Cavin Johnson's side picked up a valuable point on the road and remain at the summit of the PSL log.

Each week our team of writers will put forward a selected candidate, as chosen by South Africa, who deserves recognition for achieving something special that matchday.

You can also help us choose a worthy recipient of the weekly accolade by leaving your nominations and comments. Your suggestions will be taken into consideration.

It won't necessarily be the best player in the country - at least not usually - but whoever we crown will have accomplished something amazing. It might be for a particularly awesome performance or for something praiseworthy off the pitch - either way, the person in question deserves special attention...
