Returning from a long injury lay-off, few expected Sifiso Myeni to make a major impact in the last few games of the season. However, the influential winger showed what Pirates have been missing the last couple of months by striking deep in injury time against Bidvest Wits to help his side secure a vital victory against the Clever Boys. Myeni came on as a substitute in the second half of the game and provided the defending champions with the spark of inspiration they required to get past a dogged Wits outfit. The Buccaneers will hold on to the hope that they can catch Kaizer Chiefs and perhaps dethrone the league leaders with four games left in the season. With the return of players like Myeni and Benni McCarthy, Roger de Sa's side may still have a chance to do what many regard as the impossible.

Congratulations to Sifiso Myeni Goal.com's 28th South Africa Player of the Week winner!

Honourable Mention

Mabhuti Khenyeza - Ajax Cape Town

Despite all of the speculation surrounding Khenyeza's position at the club, the striker showed he can still be a deadly force in front of goal after scoring the Urban Warriors' opener against Chippa United. The goal did not win the game for the relegation-threatened outfit, but Khenyeza may have earned himself a starting berth when Muhsin Ertugral takes over.

Sahmeeg Doutie- SuperSport United

Doutie scored the winner for SuperSport when they defeated Golden Arrows 1-0 this weekend, moving the side into the top four of the PSL standings. Gavin Hunt's side have gone from strength to strength at the end of the season and will push for a top four finish with three games to go.
Ruzaigh Gamildien- Bloemfontein Celtic

Phunya Sele Sele's talented playmaker scored the winner against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday, helping his side strengthen their designs on finishing in the top eight come the end of the season.

Each week our team of writers will put forward a selected candidate, as chosen by Goal.com South Africa, who deserves recognition for achieving something special that matchday.

You can also help us choose a worthy recipient of the weekly accolade by leaving your nominations and comments. Your suggestions will be taken into consideration.

It won't necessarily be the best player in the country - at least not usually - but whoever we crown will have accomplished something amazing. It might be for a particularly awesome performance or for something praiseworthy off the pitch - either way, the person in question deserves special attention...
