1-3 Kaizer Chiefs

Bernard Parker inspired Chiefs to victory in a potentially season-defining clash against Moroka Swallows on Saturday evening. A goal down, Chiefs needed one of their attacking players to come to the fore and Parker delivered. The striker broke his long goal drought, netting on two occasions to help the AmaKhosi overcome a spirited Dube Birds. The hard-working Parker has scored thirteen goals this season and tops the PSL goal-scoring list. The performance helped Chiefs maintain their lead at the top of the PSL standings and possibly put one hand on the trophy, with merely four games left in the season.

Congratulations to Bernard Parker's 27th South Africa Player of the Week winner!

Honourable Mention

Sibusiso Vilakazi - Bidvest Wits

Vilakazi's second half goal broke Ajax Cape Town's resistance on Saturday night, condemning the relegation candidates to a 2-0 loss against Clive Barker's Wits, who climb to fourth on the log thanks to the result.

George Lebese- Kaizer Chiefs

Lebese's pace dismantled Moroka Swallows on many an occasion during the Soweto Derby and the winger capped off a fine performance with Chiefs' third and final goal of the night. His link-up play with Kingston Nkhatha was mesmerising at times.
Andile Mbenyane- Chippa United

The Chilli Boys late season form has seen them grab four out of the last six points available, with Mbenyane their latest hero. Rescuing a priceless point against Platinum Stars with a second half strike, Mbeyane may have given a hopeless situation for Chippa United one more chance to be rescued.

Each week our team of writers will put forward a selected candidate, as chosen by South Africa, who deserves recognition for achieving something special that matchday.

You can also help us choose a worthy recipient of the weekly accolade by leaving your nominations and comments. Your suggestions will be taken into consideration.

It won't necessarily be the best player in the country - at least not usually - but whoever we crown will have accomplished something amazing. It might be for a particularly awesome performance or for something praiseworthy off the pitch - either way, the person in question deserves special attention...
