Black Leopards coach Kostadin Papic has told Goal that they are ready to cause an upset against the Cup holders Kaizer Chiefs in the last 32 of the Nedbank Cup on Sunday afternoon.
AmaKhosi are unbeaten in their last 12 games in all competitions, and although Papic is ready to end Chiefs' impressive run, he said that there's no pressure to beat them.
"They haven't lost in 12 consecutive games? Then they will lose to us on Sunday," the friendly Papic told Goal. "On a serious note though, we are mentally prepared, and we will be physically ready for Chiefs, but there's no pressure to beat them," he said.
Papic also revealed that they won't be intimidated by the quality of players in the Chiefs team, as he believes that this clash will be good for his new players to shine.
"We will not be intimidated. Yes, we signed a lot of new players at the beginning of the season, but they should play. I cannot go and bring other players to play Chiefs. This is their chance to shine," said Papic.
The former Pirates tactician, who also coached AmaKhosi, believes that there will be fireworks in this encounter, but reminded the Leopards fans that their target this season is to regain their PSL status.
"There's no insight information or anything like that on my part, just because I worked for Chiefs. I am very experienced and so is Stuart (Baxter). So, it will be a battle.
"We haven't set ourselves any targets in this competition. Our aim is to do well in the NFD league and gain promotion to the PSL, but we are taking it one game at a time," added Papic.
