Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Pollen Ndlanya has told Goal that SuperSport United lost the game before it began, after he said that AmaKhosi were the favourites from the day they won their semifinal clash against United FC.
Ndlanya, who also played for Pirates, believes the pedigree that Chiefs have in cup competitions and the fact that they have just won the league played a huge role in deciding the outcome of Saturday’s match.

“It was quiet obvious from day one that Chiefs were the favourites. SuperSport United have been doing well in cup competitions, but they were facing the “cup kings” of South African football. So, it was always going to be difficult for them,” Ndlanya told Goal.
“Chiefs are too good in cup competitions and if they are allowed to reach the final then you should know that the trophy belongs to them. I think winning the league also motivated them to go all out,” he said.

Ndlanya believes that Chiefs should now strengthen their squad for the 2013/2014 season and he has faith that the Soweto giants can be the team to beat in next year’s Caf Champions League.
“They just need to reinforce their squad for next season. They should buy quality like they did at the beginning of the season, because they are going to take part in the Caf Champions League and they will need quality players,” said Ndlanya.
“With good mentality, I think Chiefs can be the team to beat in next season’s Caf Champions League, because they have been the best team in South Africa this season,” added Ndlanya.
