Siboniso Gaxa tells Goal that they have studied how United FC play and he believes that the NFD side can match Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs defender Siboniso Gaxa has told Goal that they are not going to undermine United FC when the two sides meet in the first semi-final of this year’s Nedbank Cup at the FNB Stadium on Saturday night.
Gaxa believes that the National First Division side can match the style of football played by Chiefs and the KwaMashu-born defender said fans should expect an exciting game.
“We are going to give United FC the respect they deserve. They have done well to be in the semi-finals. I think it is going to be an exciting game, because they like knocking the ball around,” Gaxa told Goal.
“I have seen them play and based on what I have seen, I think they can match us,” said Gaxa.
However, Gaxa sees this game as an opportunity for AmaKhosi to rectify their mistakes following their 1-0 defeat to Ajax Cape Town on Wednesday night, but he doesn’t want to put any pressure on his teammates.
“This is another chance for us to correct our mistakes and I am glad it came soon after our loss, unlike waiting for a week or so,” he said.
“However, I don’t want to put any pressure on my teammates to perform miracles against United FC, because that can cost us a game and possibly a trophy,” added Gaxa.
