Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane credited Platinum Stars after they had knocked his team out of the Nedbank Cup on Sunday
Sundowns saw their last attempt of picking up silverware diminish, having also lost in the Telkom Cup final earlier this season.
“We lost to a good team, a team that had more passion. I think they wanted it more than us,” said Mosimane.
It was Sundowns that had scored first with a goal from Teko Modise, but Platinum did not give in as they managed to equalize and eventually end up winning the match.
“They kept coming at us just like you saw them doing against Tuks recently. They have that capacity of not giving up,” he said.
Talented Thuso Phala is due to join SuperSport next season and proved once again why he is in the national team based on his never say die attitude.
Stars will next play in the semi finals against SuperSport United.
