Buckley said Maritzburg's journey to the quarter finals has not been easy, that their match against Tembu Royals was a significant challenge. United managed to win 3-1 courtesy of Mario Booysen, Dillon Sheppard and Cuthbert Malajila's goals.
The first goal for United came in the second half, which was an equaliser after Joseph Mofekeng had scored for Royals. It was Buckley who created the equaliser that brought the visitors back into the match.
“In the first half we were a bit all over the place. We were not composed as we would have loved to. But after the second half, the coach changed the system totally which really worked on our advantage. We knew that they were going to come hard at us, but experience played its part,” he said.
The former Bafana player said he is expecting a tough match against SuperSport, but he is not really worried since they will be playing at home in KwaZulu-Natal.“They are a good side. They are very professional so it will not be an easy game. Despite that, we are also a professional side and we will be using the home ground advantage as we take them on. There is just something great about our home stadium, so I am hoping that, we will go all the way to the semi-finals, then the finals,” he said.
