thumbnail Hello,

Maritzburg United captain Shuaib Walters told Goal.com that they will not be taking second division club Tembu Royals for granted when they visit the Eastern Cape on Friday

Walters said he is fully aware that Tembu Royals will be going all out to win, but he has urged his Maritzburg teammates to keep focused.

“We are aware that such teams will be more than happy if the score is 0-0, that is why we need to make sure that we win the match in the first half by scoring goals,” said Walters.

The former Bafana goalkeeper said they are fully prepared to take on the Royals side and they are looking forward to returning home with a win.

“It has been proven that if you undermine these teams, they will always beat you up. I think that what happened to Orlando Pirates and even the Kaizer Chiefs match against Polokwane, you could see that had Chiefs not raised their standards, they were going to lose,” he said.

Walters added that his main priority will be encouraging the rest of the club to be mentally fit and not to get too comfortable.

“If you look at it now, we are more superior than them, based on experience but that doesn't mean we will not lose. We need to go all out and play as if we are playing against any other PSL club,” he said.
