Bloemfontein Celtic coach Clinton Larsen told Goal.com that their draw against Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank last eight is best for them
“I am not really surprised with the draw. In fact I am glad that we are playing Chiefs. The reality is that if you want to prove your worth as the best team, then you must be willing to play and win against the best team.
“At the moment Chiefs is the best team in the country. They are sitting on top of the log and they are playing good football. Having said so, that does not mean that the best teams don’t get beaten,” said Larsen.
The coach added that playing against Chiefs will be a challenge that they are willing to face with his young squad.
“I have a crop of youngsters that are doing brilliantly, and I know that they will give Chiefs a hard tie. The thing with cup matches is that anything can happen and that is why it is important to utilize the opportunities. On the other hand I think Chiefs will not take us for granted since they know what we are capable of as well. I think it is going to be an exciting and challenging match for both the teams,” he said.
Larsen also said that their ability to comeback from a goal down in their matches is something that is an advantage to them and it boils down to mental preparation.
“That is one of our greatest weapons, as I am happy to have players that just don’t give up. This hopefully will assist us even when playing against Chiefs,” he said.
Bloemfontein Celtic recently lifted a trophy with the Telkom Cup, and Larsen said they are hoping to bring those moments back.
“We want to get our supporters happy, that is why I am happy that we are playing good sides, because that is what had happened during the Telkom,” said Larsen.
