SuperSport United and Free State Stars march on

Here's our wrap of the other Telkom Knock Out matches from an action packed Saturday afternoon with games in the Caf Champions League and domestic South African Cup competition
SuperSport United came from behind to beat Ajax Cape Town 2-1 in Pretoria.

Lance Davids opened the scoring in the fourth minute for Ajax, as the Cape Town club were hoping to get their season on the way. Ajax hadn't played enough games in the PSL so far, and like Bidvest Wits yesterday, looked rusty.

United are very ambitious this season with new coach Cavin Johnson, flying high in the PSL and their bottle was tested by going behind early on. Sibusiso Khumalo got SuperSport right back into it in the 14th minute. Then David Mathebula scored what proved to the winner after 27 minutes.

After losing in the Nedbank Cup final against Kaizer Chiefs at the end of last season, SuperSport will be looking for another long Cup run. Previous manager Gavin Hunt had established United as a difficult team to beat in Cup competitions, and in this campaign it's going to be interesting to see if Johnson can give them a better cutting edge going forward for finishing matches off.

The other club toward the top of the PSL table, AmaZulu disappointed away to Free State Stars in the Telkom KO on Saturday. KwaZulu-Natal clubs need to have a better record in Cup competitions and Usuthu were hopeful this time out.

However Danny Venter (after 63 minutes) and Abdul Basit Mohammed (85th minute) made sure AmaZulu went home to KZN with long faces, as their goals capped of a 2-0 win.
