Chiefs, Pirates and Sundowns avoid each other in Telkom Knockout Cup draw

Pirates and Chiefs will both visit the two promoted sides, MP Black Aces and Polokwane City, in their opening games

The 2013 Telkom Knockout Cup draw was conducted on Monday night with all the big three avoiding each other in the first round.

Defending champions Bloemfontein Celtic, will however, face last season’s runners up Mamelodi Sundowns in what should be an interesting encounter.

Celtic beat Sundowns with a controversial goal to claim their first piece of silverware in many years, and revenge is looming already.

Kaizer Chiefs will visit the newly promoted boys, Polokwane City, who have not won a single game in the elite league, and are clearly in danger of getting back to the NFD.

Orlando Pirates will travel to Mpumalanga to take on Black Aces, in what is expected to be a tricky encounter for the Buccaneers.
