Kaizer Chiefs will have revenge in mind when they host Mpumalanga Black Aces in an MTN 8 Cup encounter at the FNB Stadium on Sunday afternoon
The club's Corporate Communications Manager Vina Maphosa has made their intentions known when speaking to the Chiefs official website.
"We are excited to get back to action after two months of rest and preseason preparations," Maphosa said on the Chiefs site.
The Phefeni Boys played a number of pre-season matches, noticeably against PSL returnees Chippa United and their rivals Orlando Pirates.
"The Team is upbeat and looking forward to kick-off the season with a win this weekend," he said.
"The supporters have been starved of soccer action in the past two months and we hope to see a good crowd on Sunday, more especially that we start the season at home at FNB Stadium," he continued.
Chiefs' were defeated 1-0 by AmaZayoni during the last official fixture between the two clubs in an Absa Premiership encounter in April.
"Aces broke our hearts last season. They beat us in the league with a 90th minute goal at FNB Stadium at a time when we had a chance to defend the league," he said.
"We are looking forward to turn the tables and march on to the next round at their expense," he concluded.
