thumbnail Hello,

Dikwena have won every match on their way to the MTN 8 final while scoring nine goals in the process, and Ndlanya says Bucs are in for a big shock

Former Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs striker Pollen Ndlanya believes there are no favourites in any cup final, as the Buccaneers take on Platinum Stars in the MTN 8 final on Saturday night.

Pirates have been earmarked as favourites to lift the trophy having won it twice between 2010 and 2011, but Ndlanya anticipates a great final between two good teams.

“Cup finals don’t have favourites and underdogs. We are actually in for a great final, because Platinum Stars have done well in this competition and they deserve to be in the final,” Ndlanya told Goal.

Nonetheless, Ndlanya has put his head on the block citing that Dikwena will taste their first cup glory in seven years with a victory over Pirates.

“I actually think Platinum Stars will beat Pirates and win the MTN 8. They have been playing good attacking football with goals, and that is something Pirates lack at the moment,” he said.

The former Bafana forward didn’t want to be drawn into the score margin, but he is convinced that Dikwena will be crowned champions after the final whistle.

“I cannot predict the score beyond saying Platinum Stars will win it, but I can assure you if Pirates undermine this team then they are in for a big surprise,” added Ndlanya.
