Orlando Pirates central midfielder Lehlogonolo 'Vieira' Masalelsa's future at Bucs is under evaluation, Goal reveals
Goal has been exclusively informed by a source within the Parktown-based outfit, that the former Platinum Stars midfielder will soon find out whether he'll be in coach Vladimir Vermezovic's plans or not this season.
"Well, Vieira's future at the club will be discussed soon by the technical team. They will then advise management what to do with him," the source told Goal.
"Hence, he is not part of the Pirates squad registered with the PSL. So far around 30 players have already been registered in the 2014/15 squad," the source said to Goal.
"The boy has struggled with injuries since January. Which has led to him making a few appearances for the team in official matches," the source added to Goal.
The former Bidvest Wits defensive midfielder played only six Absa Premiership matches for Bucs during the 2013/14 campaign.
"So ya, he could be loaned out, as the team has Ace (Manyisa), Bibo (Ntshumayelo), now Issa (Sarr) and Stiga (Mabuya) in Viera's position which is central midfield," the source concluded to Goal.
Pirates' Serbian tactician Vermezovic has occasionally used defender-come-midfielder Ntsikelelo Nyauza in the central midfield.
This has also led to questions being raised over Masalesa's future at Pirates. The former South Africa under-17 and under-20 international still has one season left on his Bucs contract.
