thumbnail Hello,

The Soweto giants could jump at the opportunity to sign the want-away striker should they fail to get Knowledge Musona from TSG Hoffenheim

Goal can exclusively reveal that Edward Manqele is trying to force a move to Kaizer Chiefs after requesting to be released out of his contract at Mamelodi Sundowns.

The former Free State Stars marksman, who declared himself "happy at Sundowns" a few weeks ago, realized that his chances of playing regular football are slim under coach Pitso Mosimane.

A source close to the player has now told Goal that Manqele still wants to move to AmaKhosi although he still needs to resolve his issues with Sundowns first.

"It's not a secret that Jabu wants to join Chiefs, but let's see if they (Sundowns) agree to terminate his contract first," said the source.

Chiefs tabled an offer for the Mohlakeng-born striker back January, but Sundowns didn't even entertain it as they were looking to hold on to him, although he was on loan at Moroka Swallows at the time.

He scored eight league goals for Swallows last term and with AmaKhosi still not certain about Musona's future, Manqele's dream could come true.
