Fernandez was invited over by coach Clive Barker, but the AmaZayoni mentor tells Goal that he's opted to pursue Dino Wisser of Black Leopards instead

Goal can exclusively confirm that Mpumalanga Black Aces will not be signing veteran goalkeeper Rowen Fernandez despite impressing the technical team during his trial period there.
AmaZayoni coach Clive Barker told Goal that they have instead decided to go for a younger goalkeeper in Black Leopards shot-stopper Dino Wisser.
"That's correct! We will not be signing Rowen," Barker told Goal. "We are instead looking to sign the young goalkeeper from Black Leopards, Wisser," revealed Barker.
Wisser, 25, had a promising career at Leopards last season, and he showed during the Promotion/Relegation play-offs that he can compete against the best in the league.
Fernandez's representative Michael Hughes confirmed the news of his client's unsuccessful trial at Aces, but remains positive that the 36-year-old shot-stopper will get a club before the start of the season.
