According to recent reports, Bucs could be involved in a tug-of-war with Israel Premier League side Hapoel Ra’anana, who recently signed the 22-year-old striker on a season-long deal.
The player's representative Karabo Mathang of P Management has confirmed that, they met Bucs and agreed personal terms in June.
Goal contacted Nkana FC chairman John Chiwele for clarity regarding the situation surrounding the Kangwa saga.
"Well, what I can tell you is that Pirates simply missed out on Evans. Yes, they made an inquiry about the availability of the player, and that was it," Chiwele told Goal.
"They never came back with an offer or bid. The Israel team, Hapoel Ra’ anana contacted us and they immediately started transfer talks," he said.
"The player has since been loaned out to Hapoel. And, we as Nkana Football Club, don't know anything about Kangwa signing anything with Pirates," he concluded.
The highly-rated youngster scored eight goals in all competitions for the reigning FAZ Super Division outfit during the ongoing 2014 season.
