Kaizer Chiefs and Josta Dladla are expected to finalise contract negotiations before the end of this week, with the two parties close to reaching an agreement.

Dladla's contract with AmaKhosi expired on Monday (June 30), but he continues to train with the rest of his teammates while the deal is being finalised.

A source at Naturena confirmed the news, saying that Dladla would have been released a long time ago if his services were no longer needed at Chiefs.

"It (deal) is close. He still training with the team otherwise he would have left or been released a long time ago," the source told Goal.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, who has been with AmaKhosi for the past five seasons, previously revealed that he intends to spend the rest of his playing career at Chiefs.

At 34, Dladla could still play for a few more seasons provided he remains injury free and his services are required and as things stand, he belongs to the Soweto giants.
