Platinum Stars have confirmed to Goal that they are yet to be approached for the services of striker Sphelele Mthembu, who has recently been linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs.
Senzo Mazingisa of Dikwena revealed that Mthembu's contract is coming to an end later this month, but added that they have an option for renewal.
"We will treat that as speculation until Chiefs or any other club approaches us," Mazingisa told Goal. "But, for now I can confirm that we have not been approached by any team for the services of Siphelele Mthembu," he added.
"His contract is expiring on June 30, but we have an option for renewal and it's not up to the player to decide if he wants to renew or not. It's up to the club."
The 26-year-old Mthembu was once on the books of AmaKhosi, but he ended up playing for Orlando Pirates before joining Bloemfontein Celtic on loan between 2010 and 2011.
The KwaZulu Natal-born forward also spent time with Golden Arrows, but it is at Stars where he did well to attract the reported interest from the Soweto giants.
