Mamelodi Sundowns have opened a huge gap in the race to sign Golden Arrows striker Bonginkosi Ntuli, Goal understands.
A Sundowns official told Goal that the player has chosen the Brazilians over Orlando Pirates, who also tabled an offer to Abafana Bes'thende.
However, the two Gauteng teams are waiting for Arrows' owner Mato Madlala's final word as Ntuli is still contracted to the club beyond June this year.
"As Sundowns we are aware that Pirates also want the player," the Sundowns official told Goal. "But the player has chosen Sundowns. However, we are still waiting on Arrows club owner Mato Madlala for the deal to go through," added the Downs official.
Ntuli has been linked with a lucrative move to one of the big Gauteng teams since January, with the Buccaneers then strong candidates to win his signature.
