South African club SuperSport United have offered AFC Leopards’ Sh3.2million for the signature of top striker Allan Wanga.
According to sources close to the player, negotiations are almost complete between the two clubs with Wanga’s personal terms already agreed on.
However, the player is not expected to leave the den until June after he has played in Cecafa Nile basin tournament to be held in Sudan.
AFC Leopards’ organizing secretary Timothy Lilumbi confirmed the offer exclusively to Goal but insisted they are yet to accept it.
“We have been negotiating and this is the offer the club gave us. However, we have not accepted it because there are many other clubs, who have approached us for Wanga’s signature.
“Even El-Mereikh from Sudan have approached us and at the end of the day, we can only accept a lucrative offer.”
He added: “The deal is far from conclusion and we also have to consider the fact that he is our top player and we want to win the league.”
Wanga has six months left on his contract and could leave Ingwefor free if the deal falls through. AFC Leopards' watched helplessly as midfield maestro Peter 'Pinchez' Opiyo left for paid ranks in Finland for free after turning down a number of offers.
