The Walias top striker has penned a three-year contract with the Red Devils of Egypt but will not be used for the upcoming weekend’s Caf Confederation Cup fixture
Ethiopia international Said Saladin has completed a move to Caf Champions League title holders Al Ahly of Egypt, the striker’s agent Abdul Rahman Magdi confirmed on Wednesday.
Saladin signed a three-year deal reported to be over half a million US dollars with the Red Devils.
The 25-year-old striker joined Wadi Degla FC, another Egyptian club, in 2011 from Ethiopian giants Saint George FC.
He was a member of the Ethiopian team at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa and was also the Walias’ top scorer in their 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign.
However, Ahly will be unable to use the player next weekend in the return leg playoff of the Caf Confederation Cup, because he played in the same edition of the competition with his former club.
South African side Kaizer Chiefs had also shown interest in Saladin.
