thumbnail Hello,

The former Bafana international was set for a new deal at the beginning January, but Bobby Motaung has now revealed that the club is waiting for him to clear his name

Kaizer Chiefs football manager has confirmed that Josta Dladla’s contractual issues have been put on hold until his name cleared.

Dladla was found guilty for using a banned substance, Methylhexaneamine, while still in the middle of negotiations for a new deal with the club.

“We have renewed the contracts of several players, and Josta was one of them, but unfortunately he is in this situation now. So, we have to wait and see what transpires,” Motaung told reporters.

Dladla’s current contract with Chiefs expires at the end of June this year, and he is likely to stay with the club should his name be cleared, with coach Stuart Baxter certainly a great admirer of the veteran midfielder.

The 34-year-old former Sundowns player has also been left out of the Caf Champions League squad for the preliminary rounds, although that could change as soon as he renews his contract with the PSL champions.

Dladla is expected to play no part in Chiefs’ league game against Sundowns on Thursday night, as the investigations continue.
