Orlando Pirates are on the verge of announcing the signing of Mozambique striker Helder Pelembe, a Bucs source told GoalThe 26-year old forward has been training with The Buccaneers since late last year, and now his deal with Bucs is imminent according to the club's Public Relations Officer Mickey Modisane.
"Yes, the striker is still training with the team. Prospects are there. We are still finalizing some stuff (for the deal)," Modisane told Goal.
Pelembe joined Bucs for trials from C.D Maxaquene, the most successful Mozambique club in terms of national league titles since 1975. He participated in the 2013 Caf Champions League preliminary stages and the 2014 World Cup qualifiers with Mozambique.
"Once we are done, we shall make an announcement via our official website, regarding the signing," he concluded.
The Nampula-born player who once played in the Portuguese Primeira Liga for Portimonense, was described as mobile, skillful and lethal in the box by Bucs head coach Roger de Sa in a media conference.
