Masilela’s initial contract was set to expire at the end of the season, but he will now remain at the AmaKhosi until the end of June 2016 with an option to renew his contract for one year.
“Fullback Tsepo Masilela has extended his stay with the AmaKhosi with an additional two years to his current contract that is due to expire in June 2014.
“The former Maccabi Haifa of Israel (player) who also had a stint with Getafe of Spain, will see his extended contract running from 1 July 2014 to 30 June 2016 with an option to extend for another year, to 30 June 2017,” Chiefs confirmed on their website.
Chiefs’ football manager Bobby Motaung expressed his delight at securing the services of the 28-year-old Masilela for another two years.
“We are happy that Tsepo has agreed to extend his contract with us. Tsepo is an international player and has demonstrated commitment to the team,” said Motaung.
