The Corbeaux say the arrival of the former Djoliba center back will strengthen their back half ahead of the new season
DR Congo club TP Mazembe on Friday announced the signing of Mali defender Salif Coulibaly to beef up their defending capabilities ahead of the new campaign. Orlando Pirates were also reportedly interested in the player.
The 25-year-old former Djoliba player signed a five-year contract with the DR Congo champions and four-time Caf Champions League winners, the same team that Bucs beat in the Caf Champions League.
Coulibaly was recruited by French coach Patrice Carteron, who led Mali to clinch bronze at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa, before joining Mazembe last June.
“When I arrived at Mazembe I realised it would be a great opportunity for now and in the near future to bring on board such a talented defender, who is humble and very desirous of progressing in his career,” said Carteron.
