While Pirates were hoping to secure Thanda striker Nkosinathi Mthiyane, AmaZulu have taken the lead to secure him
PRO of AmaZulu, Philani Mabaso confirmed to Goal that the player is close to signing with them, though he has not put pen to paper yet.
“Honestly speaking, we are very close to signing him, as things are looking good. I cannot say he is our player until he signs. In this game of football anything can happen and that is why you need to get the signature first, until then the player can be signed by any team,” said Mabaso.

Mabaso also said that he wished the player had already signed for the club as he is known as a natural scorer.
“How I wish he had already signed with us. But I can tell you that he is most likely. We are just doing the final touch ups, and those touch ups are the signature,” he said.
Shall AmaZulu secure the player’s signature, they will have extra firepower, having already bought Sthembiso Ngcobo this winter.
