Swallows coach Zeca Marques tells Goal that Mongezi Bobe is on the verge of completing his move to the Soweto-based club

Former Black Leopards captain Mongezi Bobe is close to finalizing his move to Moroka Swallows after being released by Lidoda Duvha earlier this week.

It has been an open secret that Swallows are interested in Bobe, and they are ready to offer him a contract now that he has cut ties with Leopards.

Talking to Goal, Swallows coach Zeca Marques confirmed that he is expecting Bobe to join them anytime soon, but says he will only be certain of that when Bobe arrives at the club.

“I am aware that he has left Leopards. I had a chat with him before and after he left the club. We have agreed that he will come to join us, but you know how football is.

“He can change his mind anytime a good offer comes in. He said he’s coming, but I will only believe that when he gets here,” Marques told Goal.

Marques revealed his interest in Bobe before, but he couldn’t pursue him to join Swallows.

However, he is adamant that Bobe will be a success should he eventually agree to sign for the Dube Birds.

“He’s the kind of a player I have wanted to have for a long time, but I just couldn’t. I think he will be a success in this team if he decides to join us,” added Marques.

The Swallows mentor also confirmed that they have signed a Serbian goalkeeper Igor Bondzulic to give first choice keeper Greg Etafia some competition.

“Igor has joined us, and he has been brought in not to warm the bench. We wanted to have depth and quality in that department, and I think he will fit in well,” concluded Marques.
