Knowledge Musona arrived in SA on Wednesday, where our source confirmed to Goal why he chose Chiefs
The 23-year-old forward left Germany on Tuesday after a one-year-loan deal between Chiefs and TSG Hoffenheim was struck late last week while he was in Europe. He has three years still left on his Hoffenheim contract.
The Zimbabwean international spent two turbulent years in Germany where he failed to command a regular jersey at Hoffenheim and Augsburg where he was loaned out last season.
According to a source close to the player, an unnamed English Premier League team had showed interest but was not serious in their pursuit.

“He is already back at Kaizer Chiefs. Frustration was the main reason why he decided to come back to Africa. He just wanted to go to a club where he will play regularly. For now, a first team jersey was not guaranteed at Hoffenheim,” the source told Goal.
“There was an offer from England, but the club did not make a serious bid and besides, Musona was afraid that the same thing would happen if he joined another European club. That is why he decided to come back to South Africa. Yes, he still wants to go back to Europe from Kaizer Chiefs but it will probably not be Germany.”
Last month Musona complained that he was frustrated in Germany where he was not being treated well. He said the constant changing of coaches at Hoffenheim and Augsburg unsettled him as well as not being deployed on his preferred central striker role.
