Free State Stars hands Sambu one year contract

Stars defender Mbuyiselo Sambu has been handed another one year contract by his club following an impressive season

A source at Stars confirmed to Goal that the player will be making his return and will be running for the team next season.

“He was very impressive last season and that is why they have handed him another one year contract. I am not sure why he was not given a long contract, but apparently they agreed on these terms and they will take it from there,” said the source.

The former Platinum Stars captain is expected to play another crucial role at the club, especially at the back since their goalkeeper captain has joined Mamelodi Sundowns.

Sambu made 19 league starts last season for Free State and coach Steve Komphela will be relying on him to get the rest of the team motivated.
