Pirates have reinforced their front line with the acquisition of the Bloem Celtic striker Lennox Bacela

Bloemfontein Celtic striker Lennox Bacela has completed his move to Orlando Pirates on a three-year deal.

Goal has been reliably informed by a source within the Pirates camp that the player will finalize the deal today, before joining his new teammates for pre-season training on Thursday.

"Bacela will sign a three-year contract with Pirates today (Wednesday). The coach wanted a striker and Bacela suits the criteria," said our source.

Although Bacela is expected to solve Bucs goalscoring problems, he didn't have an impressive record as far as scoring goals at Celtic is concerned.

The 30-year-old forward managed only six goals from 35 appearances in all competitions last season.

Bacela's career seemed to be heading for disaster when he was loaned to Celtic from Santos a few seasons ago, but he turned the tables when he scored nine goals for Siwelele during the 2011/2012 season.

Bacela's main competition will be Collins Mbesuma, as Pirates have lost the services of Benni McCarthy due to retirement while Takesure Chinyama has been released by the club.
