Goal can confirm that Downs’ midfielder Musa Nyatama will certainly turn out for the new PSL club in the upcoming season with Celtic, Maritzburg and Pirates all interested in him

Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed to Goal that midfielder Musa Nyatama will train with Bloem Celtic, after coach Clinton Larsen had asked to have a closer look at the player.

Nyatama has been linked with a move back to Maritzburg United, but the Brazilians are reluctant to release the player, as he has also captured the eye of the Pirates coach Roger de Sa.

“I can confirm that Nyatama is on his way to Bloemfontein for a trial with Celtic and if everything goes well then he will be sold to Celtic,” added the Sundowns official.

The 25-year-old Nyatama has seen little game time since joining Sundowns back in 2011, and the presence of captain Teko Modise has made matters worse for the KwaZulu Natal-born midfielder.

Sundowns confirmed that Maritzburg United had demanded Nyatama to be included in a deal involving striker Cuthbert Malajila, but the Tshwane giants put up a good offer for the Zimbabwean international.

“They wanted us to include Nyatama in the Malajila deal, but we bought him outright.

“However, Maritzburg United still want Nyatama and they haven’t given up on getting him,” added the Sundowns official.
