thumbnail Hello,

Mayambela’s football career might not be over as yet, as he is expected to leave the country to attend trials in Turkey

Orlando Pirates midfielder Mark Mayambela is on his way to an unnamed Turkish side for trials according his agent Tim Sukazi.

Mayambela learned earlier this year that his contract with Pirates was not going to be renewed, but he has been thrown a lifeline to at least revive his career in Europe.

He is expected to jet off to Turkey early next week, as his contract with Pirates expires on Sunday, June 30 and Sukazi confirmed.

“We are busy sorting out the visas and he will leave the country early next week, but I am not in a position to reveal the name of the club at the moment.

Sukazi is however, not crossing fingers that Mayambela’s trial in Turkey will materialize into a big move, because the 25-year-old dribbling wizard spent the better part of last season on the sidelines.

“It is just a trial for now, because he spent the whole of last season without playing at Pirates, but we will see what happens,” Sukazi told Goal.

It is also an open secret that there are several local clubs that want to sign Mayambela and Sukazi confirmed the reports, but he wasn’t prepared to go in detail.

“There are several local clubs that are interested in him, but that can only be discussed when he is back from Turkey,” added Sukazi.
