thumbnail Hello,

One of South Africa’s most talented defenders who made a name for himself at Kaizer Chiefs, Mthokozisi Yende has joined Stars

Despite being loaned to Maritzburg Unite, Yende was still a Chiefs player as his contract only came to an end recently.

The 29-year-old Yende has been getting familiar with Free State Stars environment over the last two months, working out with the team.

After not featuring much for United, this was one of the reasons that prompted the player not to hesitate when the Stars offer came by.

Yende hardly featured at Maritzburg United last season, as he only made 15 starts last season.

“Getting game time is crucial for him and we are confident that he will feature more on Free State Stars setup next season. I can confirm that he has signed with the club,” said a source at Free State Stars.

Yende was in the Chiefs’ team that won the Telkom Knockout twice in 2010, but in three seasons at Chiefs, made just 41 appearances and scored only a single goal.
