PSL club Maritzburg United have renewed their contract of Ruben Cloete with a one year extension. Orlando Pirates will no longer own his contract next season
Cloete played a crucial role for the Maritzburg based team in KwaZulu-Natal, making 27 starts last season.
The player made his way to United from Orlandi Pirates and seemingly his performances impressed the United big shots as they decided to keep him for another season.
A source close to Cloete confirmed that the player will indeed be seen at the Maritzburg United outfit next season.
“He has most definitely signed a one year extension deal with Maritzburg and we hope that he will impress just like last season. He is a great player and a hard worker, and I believe that is why it was not that difficult deciding about his contract.
"The only reason why there was a bit of delay is that, he is still an Orlando Pirates player, as he is loaned at Maritzburg,” said the source.
The Bucs ownership of Cloete is coming to an end, opening the way for Maritzburg to seal their own one year deal.
