thumbnail Hello,

Sundowns’ midfielder Surprise Moriri is set to remain at the club for at least another season despite lack of game time

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Surprise Moriri might not have played as many games in recent seasons as he would have liked, but it seems as if he has won Pitso Mosimane’s faith.

A source close to the player confirmed to Goal that Moriri will be staying in Chloorkop for at least another season to try and get back into the Sundowns starting line-up.

“Pitso believes in him. He thinks Moriri can still play a role in the team’s success,” said our source.

Mosimane is believed to be Moriri’s number one fan, having worked with him while still at Bafana.

“Yes, he didn’t play him more often last season. Perhaps he knew what Surprise can offer; remember he worked with him at the national team,” added our source.

Moriri’s lack of game time at Downs sparked rumours that he may be allowed to leave the club after nine years.

The Matibidi-born midfielder was rumoured to be heading back to Limpopo to join Polokwane City, but he would definitely be grateful for the second chance to reignite his career.
