Recent indications from Tottenham were that Khumalo is amongst 10 players that will be released by the club, while another defender William Gallas is unlikely to have his contract renewed either.
Khumalo has two more years to go at Spurs and he is expected to report for pre-season training on July 8.
He was hoped to be the next great Bafana defender after the country produced Leeds legend Lucas Radebe. Khumalo joined Spurs in January 2011, but has been on loan at various clubs after failing to break into a higher quality defense of the top 5 English Premier League club.
Last season he represented Greek club PAOK and after struggling for game time, Khumalo was dropped from the Bafana squad after the 2013 Afcon.
