Benjani could return to Gauteng to sign with Bidvest Wits after the club confirmed that they would love to have him if he’s available
Goal can confirm that Bidvest Wits are interested in Benjani Mwaruwari’s services, as the Johannesburg-based club continues to reinforce their squad for the upcoming season.
An insider within the Wits camp revealed that no enquiries have been made about the availability of the player, but added that the club would love to have Benjani if he is available.
“We haven’t made any enquiries about him (Benjani), but we heard his contract is coming to an end on June 30.

“If he is available then we would love to have him. He is still in a great shape and the kind of a player that can add value to the team,” said the source.
Mwaruwari had earlier told Goal that he would love to remain at Chippa United should they regain their top-flight status, but the former Man City man could be tempted to move even if the Chilli Boys win the play-offs battle.
At 34, Benjani can still play for a season or two before he could think of retirement, and moving to Bidvest Wits and working with Gavin Hunt could be what he needs to end his career on a high.
