Goal has learned that Platinum Stars have rejected Cavin Johnson’s resignation and they want the coach to continue next season
SuperSport United might have been pleased that their possible candidate Cavin Johnson had resigned as Platinum Stars coach, but it has been confirmed that the Rustenburg outfit has rejected his resignation.
One of Dikwena’s officials confirmed to Goal that Johnson’s resignation has been turned down and that the two parties are still discussing the way forward.
“The club has rejected Johnson’s resignation and there is nothing more we can say at the moment, because the club has its own reasons and they will be revealed in the next few days,” he said.
Johnson handed his resignation letter earlier this week, fuelling speculations that he has accepted SuperSport United’s offer.
However, the Stars coach cited family reasons as the motive for his resignation, but Dikwena are convinced that they will lose Johnson to SuperSport United while still contracted to them.
Johnson is clearly frustrated with the way this whole matter has been handled, and he feels Stars are making a mountain out of nothing and he wants the solution as soon as possible.
“I don’t know why they’re making a mountain out of nothing. This matter shouldn’t have been dragged this far, but I am waiting for them to get here for our second meeting of the day,” Johnson told Goal.
