Goal spoke with Swallows head coach Zeca Marques who confirmed that Sundowns have shown interest in striker Katlego Mashego

Moroka Swallows coach Zeca Marques has told Goal that they are not going to entertain rumours that Katlego Mashego is leaving them for Sundowns.

However, Marques confirmed that there has been contact between Swallows and Sundowns about the Bafana striker moving to Chloorkop next season.

“I am aware that there has been contact between the two teams, but no offer has been put on the table for Mashego. I will take it as a rumour,” Marques told Goal.

Swallows boss Leon Prins has reportedly told Sundowns that he is willing to listen to their offer is good enough for the player of Mashego’s calibre.

Mashego had a season to remember at Swallows where he netted 13 league goals in 22 starts, and he also forced his way back into the national team setup ahead of the 2014 Fifa World Cup.

Meanwhile, Swallows are in search of a goalkeeper after losing Aubrey Mathibe to AmaZulu over a week ago, and Marques confirmed that they are looking to recruit a foreign goalkeeper believed to be from Portugal.
