Former Bafana star Sibaya’s contract with Swallows ends

Former South Africa midfielder and Moroka Swallows player Macbeth Sibaya’s contract with Swallows has not been renewed, with his departure from the club expected soon

According to Goal's insider at Swallows, Sibaya’s contract will not be renewed since he is not playing enough games at the club.

“He will not be coming back to Swallows next season as his contract has not been renewed and there are slim chances of that happening. I think the problem is that he has not been getting any game time in the club since the arrival of our new coach Zeca Marques,” said the source.

Marques also confirmed with Isolzwe that the player will not be flying with the Birds next season.

“We had a chat with him and we came to a mutual understanding that his contract will not be renewed. I must also complement him for his best behaviour and discipline that he has displayed over the years,” he said.

The coach also added that Sibiya should be retiring since age is not on his side.

“He might be calling it quits as a player as age is not on his side, but that is something that he has not really concluded. On our side it been great having him in the squad,” he said.
