Jimmy Tau’s agent Jazzman Mahlakgane tells Goal that the future of the veteran defender will be decided by coach Stuart Baxter
Jimmy Tau’s agent Jazzman Mahlakgane has told Goal that his agency is very quiet during this transfer window, as there are no major movements from the players that he represents.
However, Mahlakgane confirmed that Tau’s future at Chiefs is hanging in the balance after spending the entire 2012/2013 season without a competitive football.
“There is nothing in terms of movements. We have agreed with Chiefs that the coach will decide if he will need Jimmy in his team next season,” Mahlakgane told Goal.
Tau’s career at Chiefs looked to be heading for disaster back in 2011 when he stepped down as the club captain while Vladimir Vermezovic was still in charge of the AmaKhosi team.
He then broke his ankle in Chiefs’ final match of the 2011/2012 season against AmaZulu and he was sidelined for the whole of last season, and although Tau did recover, it was too late for him to break into Stuart Baxter’s first team.
