Pirates’ midfielder Tlou Segolela wants to stay in Parktown for a few seasons if he fails to move abroad next season
Orlando Pirates midfielder Tlou Segolela is still happy to play for the club if he fails to get an overseas contract according to his agent Tim Sukazi.
Segolela’s contract with Pirates comes to an end on June 30, and the Parktown-based club hasn’t made their intensions clear whether they will give him extension.
Sukazi believes that Pirates are the only team that can answer whether Segolela will leave or stay, because the player is more than happy to stay.
Although Pirates have an option to renew Segolela’s contract, Sukazi revealed that the contract is not legally binding which means the player can sign with the team of his choice at any given time.
Having said that Sukazi went on to reveal that there are several clubs that have shown interest in the speedy winger, locally and abroad.
He also confirmed that a written proposal has been brought forward for the services of Segolela, but he could not reveal the name of the team that wants the Bafana winger at this stage.
Segolela nearly joined the Belgian side Standard Liege at the beginning of the 2009/2010 season, and although Sukazi didn’t reveal the name of club interested in Segolela’s services, it is believed that the team is from Belgium.
