PSL Transfer Wrap-up: Chippa United continue to build squad, while Mohammed Awal's move to Orlando Pirates hangs in the balance South Africa highlights all the PSL in-and-outs and the important transfer news during the January transfer window
Maritzburg United and Orlando Pirates are currently in a battle over towering Ghanian defender Mohammed Awal, who has agreed to join the Buccaneers, but his move to the Orlando Stadium has not been confirmed.

Meanwhile, Chippa United continue to dominate PSL transfer news as they search for players to help with their bid to stay in South Africa's top-flight.

They have already captured the signing of former under-23 international Phumelele Bhengu on Monday and are expected to add two more players by the end of the week. Bhengu has signed a 2-and-half year contract with the Cape Town based outfit.

After losing out on a chance to sign Mark Mayambela due to the midfielder's desire to play for Kaizer Chiefs, Chippa United have not given up on seeking surivival in the PSL, with a possible deal to sign out of favour Mbulelo Mabizela still on the cards.

The Chilli Boyz are expected to close out a deal by the end of the week for both Mabizela and Moussa Maazou from Etolie du Sahel in Tunisia. The Niger international's deal has been agreed upon and he is destined to join the PSL newcomers.

Pre-contracts have been signed by Ajax Cape Town's Nhlanhla Vilakazi, who will join Maritzburg United next season, and  Moroka Swallow's Bennet Chenene who is set to play for SuperSport United during the 2013/2014 campaign, during a busy day of January transfer action.
