Iniesta: Barcelona leave the Bernabeu with bad taste in mouth
The Spain international has voiced his frustration after drawing Wednesday's cup match against their arch-rivals and felt they could and possibly should have won the game
Andres Iniesta has admitted the 1-1 Copa del Rey draw against Real Madrid has left a "bad taste" in Barcelona mouths, as he feels they should have emerged victorious.Cesc Fabregas gifted the Catalans a 1-0 lead after 50 minutes of play, but Raphael Varane restored parity 10 minutes before the final whistle, much to Iniesta's frustration.
"Perhaps we are leaving with a bad taste in our mouths because we had our chances. They had their chances, too, though. It was a very competitive and intense match," the Spain international told reporters.
"In general we dominated. At times, however, we weren’t very precise. We dominated most of the match, we created chances and we could have scored another. But the end result is what it is.
"We have to be positive about the score seeing that coming to the Bernabeu and winning isn’t easy."
The second leg is scheduled to take place on February 27.
