Deulofeu must keep his feet on the ground, says Pinto
The veteran goalkeeper believes the attacker can go a long a way with the right attitude, and has praised the youngsters who featured in Wednesday's game
Barcelona goalkeeper Jose Pinto believes that Gerard Deulofeu has a bright future ahead of him, but has warned the promising youngster to keep his feet on the ground. The 18-year-old is regarded as one of the biggest talents to have come through La Masia in recent years and impressed during his substitute cameo in Barca's 3-1 Copa del Rey win over Alaves on Wednesday.
"If Deulofeu continues on this path he’ll consolidate himself as good player. He’s already proving his worth," Pinto was quoted as saying on the official Barcelona website.
"However, he needs to have a good head on his shoulders and keep his feet on the ground, like all the players."
Deulofeu is not the only youngster to have caught the attention of Pinto though, as the experienced goalkeeper has nothing but praise for the other reserves who featured against Alaves.
"There is very little you have to say to the youngsters, they come up from the reserve side well trained. They know the philosophy, the game, they are so eager. They’re fantastic players."
Barcelona resume La Liga action on Saturday when they host Athletic Bilbao.
