The former Betis man claims that his side have the ambition to go all the way to the final after the Andalusians continued their winning streak in Europe's elite club tournament
Les Boquerones continued their impressive season with a narrow 1-0 victory over AC Milan in the Champions League recently, with the 51-cap international netting the solitary goal having missed a penalty earlier in the match.
Joaquin, playing in his second season with the Andalusians, told AS: "Beating Milan was an historic moment for Malaga.
"We didn't think that we would be in this position after three matches. We couldn't imagine anything like this; to have nine points out of nine, not conceded a single goal and to have scored seven, it is a proud moment for everyone involved at the club," he explained.
Joaquin also admitted it was a strange experience having missed a penalty prior to his goal against Milan: "It was amazing to score the winning goal, especially having already missed a penalty which you can't normally do in the Champions League and still win."
The 31-year-old winger added: "Reaching the final of the Champions League would be a dream come true for us this season. Manuel tells us that we have to enjoy it, and look forward with faith, knowing that we can beat anyone."
