South Africa to be based in Durban during the 2013 Afcon

The host national team will be facing their challenge from the Kwazulu Natal city, where their primary training base and hotel will be situated
The South African national team will be based in Durban during the Africa Cup on Nations next year.

Bafana Bafana will open the tournament at Soccer City in Soweto on January 19, and then have two matches in Durban on the 23rd and 27th. Should they finish top of Group A, they will remain in Durban for the quarter-final.

Meanwhile, the South African Football Association (Safa) have finally confirmed the termination of assistant coach Jairo Leal’s contract.

The Brazilian first arrived as countryman Carlos Alberto Parreira’s assistant, and kept his job during Pitso Mosimane’s reign.

Also leaving is another Brazilian, physical trainer Francesco Gonzales.
